Resumen
La insatisfacción corporal es un factor de riesgo para la patología alimentaria, se requieren instrumentos fiables y válidos para su evaluación en población infantil. El objetivo fue obtener la validez y fiabilidad exploratoria y confirmatoria de la Escala de Insatisfacción Corporal y correlaciones con la edad, la Escala de Percepción de Burlas (POTS) y el Índice de Masa Corporal (IMC), la muestra de 378 niños (n=193) y niñas (n=185) de ocho a doce años (X=10.22 años; DE=0.94). No se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas por sexo ni edad. Los ítems se agruparon en un factor conceptualmente claro y estadísticamente robusto, un análisis factorial confirmatorio que arrojó índices adecuados de bondad de ajuste, un Omega de McDonald’s de .88. Las correlaciones POTS e IMC fueron positivas y estadísticamente significativas. La versión adaptada de la Escala de Insatisfacción Corporal a la población infantil mexicana constituye un instrumento útil para evaluar la insatisfacción corporal.
