Resumen

Los atracones implican consumir cantidades inusualmente grandes de alimentos en un período corto, mientras que la alimentación emocional se refiere a comer en respuesta a emociones negativas. Ambos comportamientos se asocian con dificultades en la regulación emocional. Además, el atractivo hedónico de los alimentos, en particular los ricos en grasas y azúcares, también puede contribuir a comer en exceso. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar las diferencias entre niveles crecientes de atracones en la alimentación emocional y hedónica, y su relación con la regulación emocional y el índice de masa corporal (IMC). Un total de 143 mujeres adultas cisgénero (de 18 a 59 años) completaron la Escala de atracones, el Cuestionario de alimentación emocional de Garaulet, la Escala del poder de los alimentos y la Escala de dificultades de regulación emocional. Los participantes con niveles más altos de atracones mostraron una mayor desregulación emocional, así como niveles más altos de alimentación emocional y hedónica e IMC. Sin embargo, la desregulación emocional y el IMC no predijeron diferencias en los dos tipos de conducta alimentaria. Los hallazgos se discuten desde varias perspectivas, incluida la capacidad de respuesta a un entorno alimentario calórico, los patrones de alimentación restrictivos, la impulsividad y el sesgo de peso, que pueden inducir estrés en personas con un IMC más alto. Proponemos que las intervenciones centradas en la alimentación intuitiva o consciente podrían ayudar a abordar estos problemas
