Resumen
Resumen. El propósito de este estudio fue determinar las asociaciones de la conducta alimentaria emocional con factores psicológicos y de composición corporal en estudiantes de nivel superior. La investigación se llevó a cabo con una muestra conformada por 280 estudiantes de 19 a 28 años de edad (M = 20.08, DE = 4.00), quienes proporcionaron datos sociodemográficos y completaron una batería de pruebas psicométricas para estimar los niveles de ansiedad, impulsividad, urgencia, regulación emocional y perfeccionismo desadaptativo; además, de medir sus índices de masa corporal y porcentaje de grasa corporal. A partir de los análisis estadísticos, destacaron correlaciones moderadas y estadísticamente significativas (p < .0001), de la conducta alimentaria emocional con los factores de ansiedad (rs = .44), impulsividad (rs = .40), urgencia negativa (rs = .42); preocupación por los errores (rs = .36), e indecisión de acción (rs = .38). Respecto a la composición corporal, no se identificaron asociaciones relevantes de la conducta alimentaria emocional con el índice de masa corporal y porcentaje de grasa. Los resultados se discuten a la luz de las teorías y antecedentes que señalan como un factor de riesgo la modificación de peso y otros indicadores del deterioro de la salud física y mental.
