Resumen

 

Este artículo tiene como objetivo revisar la literatura científica existente sobre la prevalencia, características clínicas, factores de riesgo y modelos de intervención relacionados con los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA) en hombres. Para ello, se utilizaron las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science, utilizando los términos “disfunción alimentaria,” “transdiagnóstico,” “prevalencia,” “dismorfobia,” “dismorfia muscular,” y “trastornos alimentaros en hombres,” obteniendo un total de 211 artículos relevantes. Los hallazgos evidencian un aumento sostenido de los diagnósticos de TCA en hombres latinoamericanos, así como una tendencia a una detección tardía en comparación con las mujeres, lo cual se asocia con mayor severidad y duración de los síntomas. Se resalta la necesidad de adaptar las intervenciones clínicas integrando la Terapia Cognitivo Conductual Mejorada (TCC-E), que ha demostrado efectividad, así como la adecuación de guías, políticas públicas y el uso de protocolos que contribuyan a la disminución de los síntomas y la reducción de la migración diagnóstica en estos
