Resumen
Recientemente el uso de redes sociales han ido en aumento, y por ende, los efectos que tienen sobre la satisfacción con la propia imagen corporal. Tendencias de Instagram como Fitspiration y Body Positive pusieron un renovado énfasis en la manera que se valora, relaciona y actúa con respecto a nuestra imagen. El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar la relación entre la exposición a imágenes Fitspiration o Body Positive y la insatisfacción corporal. 262 participantes valoraron el atractivo de un conjunto de imágenes extraídas de Instagram con el hashtag #fitspiration o #bodypositive y respondieron el Cuestionario de la Imagen Corporal (CIC) para evaluar la insatisfacción corporal. Los resultados mostraron que la valoración del atractivo de estímulos Fitspiration y Body Positive y la insatisfacción corporal de los participantes no correlacionan entre sí. La valoración del atractivo y los niveles de insatisfacción corporal fueron más elevados en las mujeres y en los participantes más jóvenes. La frecuencia de aparición de contenidos Fitspiration o Body Positive y las horas de uso de Instagram también son prevalentes en mujeres jóvenes.
